Celtic Cross spread
Ten positions explore a situation in layers, from the central issue to background, outside conditions and a possible direction. This guide uses one stated position order.

Version and dealing convention
This version fixes 3 as the goal, 4 as the foundation, 5 as the past and 6 as the near future. A horizontal 2 is a layout convention, not a reversed card. With the Major Arcana selected, use absolute deck positions 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 21, 22. Other available decks use consecutive random draws.

- Write one open question and define its scope. Keep factual questions separate from symbolic reflection.

How to connect the positions
Reading sequence (read grouped roles together as explained below): 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → 6 → 7 → 8 → 9 → 10
Read 1 and 2 together, then compare the conscious aim in 3 with the background in 4. Trace 5–1–6 as a timeline. Compare your stance in 7 with the environment in 8, and check how 9 may bias the outcome proposed in 10. The horizontal placement of card 2 marks its crossing role; orientation is recorded separately.
What to watch for
There is no single universal Celtic Cross position order. Choose this order before drawing and do not switch definitions midway.
